Montrose Regional Health Named Five-Star Hospital

MONTROSE, CO: Montrose Memorial Hospital is a five-star hospital according to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It is the only hospital within an hour of Montrose to receive the distinction.

The overall hospital rating summarizes a variety of measures on Hospital Compare (www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare) reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia. The evaluation shows how well each hospital performed, on average, compared to other hospitals in the U.S.   The Hospital Compare rankings range from one to five stars.  The more stars, the better a hospital performed on the available quality measures.  The most common overall hospital ratings are three or four stars.  MRH achieved the elite 5-star rating!  According to Medicare.gov, less than 9% of U.S. hospitals nationwide are rated five out of five stars.
